Mitel Desk Phone - Personal Greeting Setup

To dial into the voicemail system to record your personal greeting and name, and change the type of greeting that is played when callers reach your voicemail, use the following instructions for your Mitel Connect Phone System:

Access the voicemail system:


If you are using a IP 400 series desk phone, press the Voicemail function key.

If you are calling from a phone other than your own desk phone, dial your own phone number and press the * key when you hear the voicemail greeting. If you are not prompted you to enter your passphrase, press the * key a second time.


1. When you hear the audio prompt to enter your passphrase, enter your phone/voicemail PIN followed by the # key.

Note: You can press the * key to skip listening to your voicemail system summary and messages.

  • Press 4 in the main voicemail menu to access the following options:
  • Press 1 to record your personal greeting
  • Press 2 to record your name

2. Press 3 to change from your current greeting. This option toggles between the two types of greetings from which you can choose in the voicemail system; personal greeting or system greeting.

For options 1 (record your personal greeting) and 2 (record your name) above, you can do the following:

  • Press 1 to listen to your recorded personal greeting or name
  • Press 2 to re-record your personal greeting or name, then use the following options:
  • Press 1 to listen to your re-recorded personal greeting or name
  • Press 2 to record your personal greeting or name again

3. Press 3 to save the last recording

Press 9 to return to the main menu at any time.
